This month, in honor of Pride Month, we’d like to introduce you to Family Equality - an organization committed to ensuring that everyone has the freedom to find, form, and sustain their families by advancing equality for the LGBTQ+ community. For the fifth year in a row, Owlet is proud to partner with Family Equality and make a donation to support their efforts.
In their words, here’s why our Pride Month partnership is so important.

No matter how many diapers you’ve changed, bottles you’ve cleaned, or bedtime stories you’ve read, love—more than anything—makes a family.
As we enter Pride Month, Family Equality is proud to partner with Owlet for the fifth year in a row to ensure that everyone has the chance to experience this love no matter who they are or how their family was formed.

We are so grateful to celebrate Pride and all the different ways our families show up in the world with this partnership and Owlet’s generous donation to our work. If there’s one thing we’ve seen in our 45 year history, it’s that it takes all of us, working together like families do, to create lasting change,” says Jo Boileau (he/him), Sr. Manager of Corporate & Foundation Giving.
With 20 million LGBTQ+ adults living in the United States and 3.7 million youth living with an LGBTQ+ parent, Owlet’s work to ensure that all families have the support they need to care for their children goes hand-in-hand with Family Equality’s decades-long legacy of protecting, supporting, and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community and their families. Whether they’re hosting the largest annual gathering of LGBTQ+ families in the world, pushing back against the 500+ anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced last year alone, or reaching at least 126,000 families, changemakers, and allies through digital resources and programming each month, Family Equality is living out our mission of reaching every baby and every parent with the support they need to thrive. We couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate Pride and the many LGBTQ+ families who are part of the Owlet community than by partnering with them to support their impactful work.

Jo Boileau (he/him) is the Senior Manager of Corporate and Foundation Giving for Family Equality!
In this role, Jo is a member of their Development team and works across the organization to develop and maintain relationships with corporate and foundation partners to catalyze Family Equality’s work of ensuring the universal freedom to find, form, and sustain family.
Jo’s experience spans from non-profits to higher-education, where he has led development and public relations campaigns, as well as full-cycle recruitment and yield initiatives. He’s been a lecturer, marketer, fundraiser, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice champion. He anchors his work in the power of relationships and collective community action, and is excited to be bringing these experiences to work every day to secure lived and legal equality for queer families everywhere.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Purdue University, where he made history serving as Purdue’s first openly gay Student Body President.
