"Our Dream Sock has alerted us to drops in his health readings on more than one occasion."
"We have two wonderful children. Our daughter, our oldest, used Dream Sock throughout her entire first year. Our son Carter was born this past April with an extremely rare genetic disorder and a heart condition. He is the only known person in the world with this combination. Because of his condition, Carter’s oxygen baseline is naturally low.
He spent nearly two months in the NICU struggling to keep his oxygen levels up. When he finally made enough progress to come home, the only device we had to monitor him at home was our Dream Sock.
About a week after bringing him home, Carter was wearing his Dream Sock when we received an alert that his oxygen had dropped below 80%. We watched the readings closely, and they consistently showed that his oxygen wasn’t rising above the mid-80s. Without our Dream Sock, we would have had no idea — he was sleeping peacefully and showing no outward signs of distress.
We took him to the hospital, and the medical team confirmed his low oxygen levels. Carter ended up needing supplemental oxygen. After that, our pediatrician wrote a prescription for a pulse oximeter. However, our Dream Sock was far easier to use at home, especially when caring for a medically complex infant.
Carter still uses his Dream Sock today, and it has alerted us to drops in his health readings on more than one occasion. Thank you for taking the time to hear our story." - Tyler C.
