"My 6 week old son Dimitri wears his Owlet Dream Sock every night for my peace of mind. When he was 5 weeks old, I received a red alert for low oxygen readings. I tried adjusting the fabric sock size, the tightness of the fabric sock, putting regular socks over his feet in case they were cold, all of the things to make sure it wasn’t a false alarm. After 2 nights of this happening, I started to think something was wrong with our Dream Sock. My baby looked okay and was not showing any symptoms of distress.
After a few days of pretty consistent but random drops in his oxygen, he started to show how hard he was actually working to breathe. He started vomiting, eventually stopped eating, and was constantly sleepy. I took him to the emergency room and they did test after test thinking it was a viral infection. Finally, a chest X-ray showed his heart was enlarged and he had fluid built up where it shouldn’t have been. After seeing this in the X-ray, an echocardiogram was performed that showed his heart was very unhealthy. My son was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease, Cor Triatriatum. This disease is extremely extremely rare and only an estimated 3,000 people in the world have it. My son had emergency life-saving open heart surgery at 5 weeks old, the day after I took him to the ER. I still haven’t found the right words, but I am so extremely grateful to have had our Dream Sock. Thank you, Owlet." - Ashlee L.
