"Because he was wearing his Dream Sock, we were made aware that my son’s pulse rate was critically high."

"My son, who is 9 weeks old, was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome after a trip to the ER and a 4 day pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) stay. Because he was wearing his Owlet Dream Sock, we were made aware that my son’s pulse rate was critically high at 250 beats per minute. My son looked completely fine and was asymptomatic but his Dream Sock continued to notify us. After assessing him and speaking with the on-call pediatrician, we took him to the ER.

When we got to the ER, his pulse rate was as high as 295 bpm. He was in a heart rhythm called supraventricular atrial tachycardia (SVT). Thankfully after some medications, he converted back to a normal rhythm and we were admitted to the PICU for monitoring. He’s since been diagnosed with WPW syndrome, which causes the heart to go into SVT occasionally. We are home now and he is doing well with medications, thankfully.

I’ve reflected on that night and I’m not sure what would have happened to my son if we didn’t have his Dream Sock on him. I’m so incredibly grateful for Owlet because I truly believe we would have had a worse outcome without the early notification. My family and I are so incredibly grateful for this product!" - Molly W.
