“Our Dream Sock was truly a blessing for our family. It helped give us information so we could stay aware.”
“As a long-time consumer, I am beyond grateful for Owlet. I first bought our Owlet Dream Sock for my third child, and when our fourth baby arrived, we purchased another. After our fourth child Miles was born, I immediately sensed that something wasn’t right. He paused often, choked during feeds, and wasn’t gaining weight. Whenever I put his Dream Sock on him, I noticed concerning drops in his oxygen levels. Every time he ate or lay flat, his oxygen saturations would fall. I was so worried.
We saw multiple specialists, but no one had real answers. By 10 weeks, a craniofacial specialist ordered a sleep study. Before we even received the results, Miles came down with a respiratory infection. His Dream Sock showed his oxygen levels dropping again. At one point, he was taking only one breath per minute. We called an ambulance, and a scope revealed that his airway was 100% blocked when he was lying on his back, and about 75% blocked in other positions.
A doctor told me that if I had ever laid my baby flat for an extended period, he would not have woken up. Hearing that still shakes me. A few days later, Miles underwent a mandibular distraction surgery, which broke his jaw and moved it forward to open his airway. The sleep study confirmed what we had been seeing—he was stopping breathing 19 times an hour.
Our Dream Sock was truly a blessing for our family. It helped give us information so we could stay aware. Since then, we have been able to notice changes in his health readings and get timely treatment from his provider. We love it so much.
After everything we’ve lived through, we are forever grateful for this device.” - Kate B.
