Ade + Ayo
The mission beyond Ade + Ayo is to introduce kids to the beauty of African design. When founder Temidayo Adedokun—originally from Nigeria—started working on her son’s nursery and wardrobe, she couldn’t find any products in the traditional colors or patterns of her home in Africa. A gap in the industry sparked a business idea for her. Now, Ade + Ayo manufacture clothing, nursery decor, toys, and accessories that exemplify African colors and also teach children about African traditions.
Coco’Pie Clothing
Coco’Pie Clothing is a Black-owned business that aims to "show Black girls their awesomeness." CEO Shantae Pelt realized the Black of representation within children’s clothing, and wanted to create a way for Black girls to see images and drawings of themselves in a positive way. The company was founded by Olowo-n’djo Tchala with the mission to empower communities and individuals in West Africa through their fair trade principles. All of their baby care products are made with natural and safe ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, jojoba seed oil, and sunflower seed oil.
