BabySat Monitoring System is the first FDA-cleared pulse oximeter featuring our wire-free sock, designed for in-home use. BabySat requires a prescription and is intended for babies 1-18 months and 6-30 lbs that could benefit from additional monitoring at home, under the supervision of a physician.
How to Get a Prescription From Our Virtual Care Platform
Parents of babies with already diagnosed or ongoing medical health conditions or concerns should work with their physician to get a prescription. Conditions that may qualify you for a prescription could include, but aren’t limited to:
- Chronic Lung Disease of Prematurity
- Apnea of Prematurity
- Dependence on Supplemental Oxygen
- Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome
- Single ventricle
- Reactive Airway Disease
- Supraventricular Tachycardia
- Neuromuscular Disorders (e.g. Spinal muscular atrophy)
If these or similar conditions are relevant to you, talk to your healthcare provider to see if BabySat is right for your family. To request a prescription, follow the simple steps below.
Step 1: Talk to your Provider
Schedule a visit with your pediatrician, family doctor, or pediatric specialist to discuss your infant's needs. Let them know why you believe BabySat is the right option for your baby, especially if your reason is related to the relevant conditions listed above.
Step 2: Be Prepared + Share Your Concerns
Bring any relevant information about your infant's health, such as medical records or test results. This helps, especially if you have a new relationship with a medical provider, and helps your doctor understand your baby's situation better.
Step 3: Get the Prescription
If your doctor agrees BabySat is the right option, they will write a prescription for you.
Step 4: Get BabySat
Once you have your prescription, you can see if BabySat is covered by your insurance. Visit our BabySat page and click “I have a prescription”. You will be directed to our Medical Equipment partner, Adapt Health. Have your medical insurance card ready, and a form of government-issued ID for any verification process needed. Follow the prompts provided on the AdaptHealth site. You should expect that your prescription for BabySat will go through a prior authorization process with your insurance company. AdaptHealth will contact you regarding the outcome of that process and what options you have if BabySat is not covered. After your information and prescription have been validated by our partner, you should receive your product by mail in as soon as 48 hours.*Shipping times may vary.
