Step 2: Get BabySat

Once you have your prescription, you can see if BabySat is covered by your insurance. Visit our BabySat page and click “I have a prescription”. You will be directed to our Medical Equipment partner, AdaptHealth. Have your medical insurance card ready, and a form of government-issued ID for any verification process needed. Step 3: Talk to Your Provider

Once you have received your BabySat device, consult with your primary care physician if continued management of your baby’s condition or changes to BabySat notification ranges are needed.

How to Get a Prescription From Your Physician

Parents of babies with already diagnosed or ongoing medical health conditions or concerns should work with their physician to get a prescription. Conditions that may qualify you for a prescription could include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Chronic Lung Disease of Prematurity
  • Apnea of Prematurity
  • Dependence on Supplemental Oxygen
  • Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome
  • Single ventricle
  • RSV Bronchiolitis
  • Pneumonia
  • Reactive Airway Disease
  • Supraventricular Tachycardia
  • Neuromuscular Disorders (e.g. Spinal muscular atrophy)
  • Family history of SIDS

If these or similar conditions are relevant to you, talk to your healthcare provider to see if BabySat is right for your family. To request a prescription, follow the simple steps below.

Step 1: Talk to Your Provider

Schedule a visit with your pediatrician, family doctor, or pediatric specialist to discuss your infant's needs. Let them know why you believe BabySat is the right option for your baby, especially if your reason is related to the relevant conditions listed above.

Step 2: Be Prepared + Share Your Concerns

Bring any relevant information about your infant's health, such as medical records or test results. This helps, especially if you have a new relationship with a medical provider, and helps your doctor understand your baby's situation better.

Step 3: Get the Prescription

If your doctor agrees BabySat is the right option, they will write a prescription for you.
